Jessica Ralph (She/Her, b. 1998, UK) is a visual artist based in the East Midlands, working primarily with moving-image and photography. She graduated with a BA in Fine Art from Loughborough University in 2021. Since then, Jessica's work has been featured in various exhibitions in a diverse range of spaces across the UK. She has also contributed to various art projects, coordinating exhibitions, workshops and creative events.

Jessica’s practice analyses everyday encounters, reimagining them into personal narratives that document the authentic human experience. Adopting a raw, intimate approach, various happenings are performed for the camera to evoke a heightened sense of reality. The lens is used as a tool to capture moments drawn from memory or the familiar, as an exploration into our longing for emotional connection. Through moving-image and photography, her work conveys a tacit sense of nostalgia, sentimentality, and togetherness.

Jessica gently invites the viewer to spectate and reflect on their own relationships to highlight our human need for belonging. Her work reminds audiences of the power of empathy and deepens our understanding of how emotional bonds shape our experiences. This prompted introspection aims to confront urgent matters of dysphoria, loneliness, and emotional disconnect in our increasingly fragmented world.
